Traffic Travis is a comprehensive SEO analysis and research tool, the way Traffic Travis is organized is that it's divided into a set of separate modules each dealing with a different
aspect of SEO and competition analysis. Unlike other programs that simply show you how many backlinks are supporting your competition, Traffic Travis goes deeper and brings you some
very insightful statistical data about your competition.
Things like the page rank distribution of their backlinks, the anchor texts used, as well as how many times they are used; all the good stuff that search engines use to
determine the strength of a given page or site. It doesn't simply tell you how hard the competition is, but literally shows you how it came up to this conclusion.
When it's analyzing the sites and pages competing for a particular keyword, it goes and checks critical factors like; whether they are putting the target keyword in h1 tags,
whether the target keyword is in the description, in the title; the number of backlinks supporting the competition, their alexa ranking, etc...It also gives you
an indication of the page authority for each url competing for the specific keyword you're targeting, so you would know exactly what you're dealing with.
It then factors all of these elements together and tells you how hard the competition actually is: easy, difficult or mildly difficult. The interesting thing I found about this
software was that by just glancing at the data that Traffic Travis provides me with, I can find critical mistakes in my competitors link building and SEO campaigns, and more importantly, I was able to
uncover weaknesses in my own.
This data is automatically retrieved, compiled and presented in a neat table that can later be exported and saved for future reference; all you basically have to do is to provide
Traffic Travis with the keyword(s) you're interested in. It's like having a professional SEO team working for you, analyzing all this data; except with traffic travis it's actually
much faster, and it's a one time fee.
While you can try the free limited version of Traffic Travis here to get a basic of idea of how it works.
I would honestly recommend you check the professional version, because that's where you really start to appreciate the true potential of this software, and it's only $1 to try anyway.
Traffic Travis doesn't just check external SEO, it helps you perfect on-page SEO as well. It can go and download the html code of you site(s) and tells you if you need to adjust some
of your own pages to rank better for particular keywords. On-page SEO is something that a lot of people tend to not do right. You'll be surprised by how many forgotten on-page elements Traffic
Travis can detect.
Some of the elements it checks are; content length, url length, internal pages setup, meta description, key html tags and how they relate to different elements like your title and much more.
In short, if some internal on-page SEO factor is missing or not optimized correctly for the keywords you're trying to rank for, it will let you know.
So in terms of on-page analysis you have a number of options to get Traffic Travis to look at your pages; one option is to simply copy paste the urls of your pages, and let Traffic Travis go
and download them; another option is to provide Traffic Travis with the site map of your site, I tend to prefer the second option.
The keyword research module is where Traffic Travis truly shines, this is where you do your Google keyword analysis; it basically tells you the search frequency (both local and
global) of the particular keywords you're interested in.
Unlike other software, Traffic Travis can list up to 2000 keyword entries that are relevant to your keyword. This is essential if you want to know what people are actually looking for
online, it also can tell you the total number of search results for each listed keyword in Google.
This is a key step whenever you're trying to choose a keyword to rank for. You can filter results to see only the entries that you're most interested in, the data can later be exported to
a pdf or csv file.
I can honestly say that I haven't seen one single tool that does all the things that Traffic Travis is capable of doing. If you think about it, you've got one software that can help
you with: keyword research, keyword competition analysis, backlinks research, on-page SEO and even PPC and adwords competition analysis (which I haven't talked about here).
Another good thing that I like about Traffic Travis is that for each module they provide, they also include a help video that pops up and shows you how to use that module. While this
might seem shallow, I found these videos to be extremely helpful at times and it was good to know that someone could always take you by the hand and show you how to make the best of this
software. Recommended, do not miss this.
